The Premier Literacy Suite is a set of software tools that provide support for individuals who find reading and writing a challenge. These tools can be used as an intervention for students experiencing difficulty in reading comprehension, spelling, and incompletion of written work in academic content classes (i.e. social studies, science, etc.)
Using text-to-speech with built-in voices, the Premier tools help students read websites, worksheets, emails, Word documents (and other text files) and PDF files. Not only can these files be read, but they can also be translated to provide multi-lingual support, as well as converted to audio files for use on a CD or MP3 player while away from the computer.
Students can also use the tools in Premier to enhance writing and study skills with features like word prediction, highlighting, integrated talking dictionary, spelling checks, notes extraction and document summarization.
The newest version of Premier (v.16) includes the addition of Cloud Connect, allowing students to access content stored in cloud-based services (such as Google Docs/Drive) and easily create new content using Premier tools to save to the Cloud.
This software is available to ALL BPS students. Brevard Public Schools owns an unlimited site license for all BPS-owned computers.
