Parent Services


The mission of FDLRS Parent Services is to assist districts and families who have children who are exceptional and/or have special or unique needs to develop effective partnerships that will allow for shared responsibilities to improve the education of children and youth.

FDLRS loans materials to families which support the education of children with disabilities.  The FDLRS Library loans student-use and professional materials to parents of exceptional students.

Search for materials online through the FDLRS East library website.

Parents may check-out up to five items.

DVDs are loaned for 1 week, and most other materials for 9 weeks.

The materials are NOT consumable.

 Parent Production Lab Workshops:

An opportunity for parents and guardians to create:

  •  Materials supporting communication, social/emotional and independent living skills within the home (all ages)
  • Reading/math activities to reinforce academic skills (Pre-K through elementary)

This workshop provides parents/guardians of students served through exceptional education the opportunity to develop materials and supports for use at home to address academic (grade PK-5) as well as social, independence, and communication needs (all ages).

The Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS) is pleased to announce the launch of the new
Parent Involvement Website.

The site is designed specifically to assist parents as they navigate the exceptional student education (ESE) process, from Pre-K through transition to college and/or career. This helpful site provides valuable information and resources related to ESE services and students with disabilities.
