Professional Development Alternatives (PDA)

The PDA program includes both Facilitated and Non Facilitated modules.  Both can be located online at http://www.fl-pda.org/

Modules are available free of charge to all Florida educators.

NEW FOR 2017-18

Facilitated Modules

The PDA online facilitated modules provide comprehensive, high quality and accessible professional development for Florida educators.  PDA modules are designed to assist educators in becoming more proficient in responding to the various instructional and behavioral needs of each individual learner in order to maximize achievement of all students. Coordinated through the FDLRS Network, the PDA Program currently has many modules available statewide.

Non Facilitated Modules

 

A non-facilitated PDA online module entitled Effective Teaching Practices for Students with Disabilities: Focusing on the Content Areas is !  This PDA independent study module will meet the 20-hour ESE training requirement for all Professional Certificate renewals (Senate Bill 1108). A non-facilitated PDA online module entitled Teaching Students with Disabilities is open for registration!  This PDA independent study module will meet the 20-hour ESE training requirement for all Professional Certificate renewals (Senate Bill 1108). PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS AND OTHER NON-EMPLOYEES
If you are not currently employed in Brevard Public Schools (BPS), please read this important information:
 
Brevard Public Schools can verify completion of BPS workshops and PDA online courses to the Florida Department of Education (FL DOE) for recertification for Brevard Public School teachers only.
 
You MUST ask your private school or previous employer if they will accept the BPS workshop or PDA online course according to their Master Inservice Plan (MIP) AND when it comes time for your recertification, the private school or previous employer MUST complete and submit a CT-116 form (Verification of Inservice Points, Renewal of the Professional Certificate) to the Florida Department of Education (FL DOE).

If they say no, they will not submit the CT-116 form for the BPS workshop or PDA online course to the FL DOE, then you must use college credit to renew your certificate.
